Norfolk Morning

The five or so months that have gone by since I moved to Norfolk seem to have flown by. It is a city one can easily meld into. Well at least for me it was easy because I have lived in and out of the Tidewater area for years. I feel at home here near the old historic apartment buildings, crusted Hague, and view of the Naro (an ancient movie theater still functioning and regularly playing indie films). No, its no Richmond which is a lot more historic and a lot more buzzy, and it is certainly no NYC which is the cultural capitol of the United States.  In a way, that is so much better for where I am in my life right now. I have been having a great time jogging in the morning past flower filled lawns, hanging out at small house shows hearing talented voices sing, coffee shop hopping to some really unique cafes, and interning at a top rate vintage store called With Lavender and Lace. On a small scale, this place has everything I need to feel like an urban sojourner. This is not to say that I plan on staying stagnant, but I am celebrating Norfolk and I know that this town is up and coming. watch out!
